Squealing and shaking from a garage door usually come from rollers that have stopped rolling. A roller carries the door along the track on a small wheel and stem, and when its bearings dry out, flat-spot or crack, it drags and chatters instead of turning. The vibration travels into the hinges, the track and the framing, which is why the whole house hears it.
We replace the full set, not just the loudest wheel, because the others share the same wear and the noise simply moves down the line. Sealed nylon rollers run quieter than bare steel and need far less lubrication. The two bottom rollers sit on brackets that hold cable tension, so those are changed with the door secured. Afterward we clean the track and check the hinges, since a worn hinge often travels with a worn roller.
